Eric Patrick Clapton CBE (born 30 March 1945) is an English rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter, widely regarded as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time.Clapton was born on 30 March 1945 in Ripley, Surrey, England, to 16-year-old Patricia Molly Clapton (7 January 1929 – March 1999) and Edward Walter Fryer (21 March 1920 – 15 May 1985), a 25-year-old soldier from Montreal, Quebec.In 1961, after leaving Hollyfield School in Surbiton, Clapton studied at the Kingston College of Art but was expelled at the end of the academic year because his focus had remained on music rather than art. Patricia Anne Boyd (born 17 March 1944) is an English model and photographer. Boyd was born on 17 March 1944 in Taunton, Somerset,the first child of Colin (“Jock”) Ian Langdon Boyd and Diana Frances Boyd (née Drysdale).From the age of eight, Boyd boarded at Nakuru School near Nairobi.Boyd briefly attended Hazeldean School in Putney, and then the St Agnes and St Michael Convent Boarding School in East Grinstead, and St Martha’s Convent in Hadley Wood, Hertfordshire. She achieved three GCE O level passes in 1961. She moved to London in 1962 and worked as a shampoo girl at Elizabeth Arden’s salon.
