Parupalli Kashyap (born 8 September 1986) is a Professional badminton player from India. A former World No.6. He trains at Gopichand Badminton Academy. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by Government of India in 2012.Born to Uday Shankar and Subhadra of Guntur,Kashyap Parupalli first enrolled with a training camp conducted by S. M. Arif in Hyderabad, India. Because his father had a transferable job, their family kept moving frequently. While in Bangalore, he joined the Padukone Academy. In 2004, they moved back to Hyderabad. He created history by reaching the quarter-finals of men’s singles at 2012 London Olympics, being the first male player from India to do so. At the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal in men’s singles.
Saina Nehwal (pronunciation (help·info); born 17 March 1990) is an Indian professional badminton player.Saina Nehwal, the daughter of Harvir Singh Nehwal and Usha Rani Nehwal, was born in Hisar.She completed her first few years of schooling at Campus School CCS HAU, Hisar. She finished 12th grade from the St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad.She trained under Pullela Gopichand in his academy Gopichand Badminton Academy in 2014 parted company with Gopichand and joined Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bangalore and trained under U. Vimal Kumar under whose training she became World number one, she later in 2017 returned to train under Gopichand. In his book Dreams of a Billion: India and the Olympic Games’, Gopichand said that he felt miserable when she left him and went to train in Bangalore.

Saina and Kashyap first met at a badminton coaching camp in 1997 as teenagers and started to meet more frequently from 2002.
“We dated for a long, long time. It was childish that we hid it from all our friends. We would be very secretive about it. We were shy and scared,” Parupalli Kashyap recalled the early days.
Both were busy with their own badminton careers and had very little time to meet but eventually, things started getting serious.
“Around 2009-2010 is when I thought I am going to be with this girl for a long time. (I started) thinking about marrying her or living together after the London 2012 Olympics. It got a little more serious in my mind.It was December 2018 when the duo got married.

It was December 2018 when the duo got married.Saina Nehwal married longtime friend Parupalli Kashyap in a private ceremony in Hyderabad on Friday.Saina Nehwal wedding took place at her residence in Orion villas at Raidurgam in Cyberabad. The couple’s close friends and family members graced the occasion with the wedding reception slated for December 16.The guests included Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan.
